"EIP are like the young upstarts, and they seem to do very well," comments one partner on the full-service IP firm. EIP has four offices, in London, Bath, Cardiff and Leeds, with 38 fee-earners. The firm has a number of good clients, including names such as Rockstar, Royal Bank of Scotland and Renesas Mobile.
Though details of much of the firm's work remain confidential, the firm has been advising Tesco this year with regards to its patent prosecution and filing and design registrations, and has also been working for Samsung LCD Netherlands R&D Centre after being added to Samsung's list of approved patent firms.
EIP has also continued its impressive growth and recruitment over the past year or so with a number of partner hires, notably James Seymour from Nokia, Darren Smyth from Marks & Clerk and Neil Condon, who joined from RGC Jenkins.
"EIP is making a real branding push. It is a good outfit," says another competitor.
