Founded in 1934, Goodrich Riquelme Asociados is a full-service law firm, headquartered in Mexico City. Its IP group is equally active in patents and trade marks, in both prosecution and litigation. The IP team comprises 18 IP lawyers and seven patent specialists with backgrounds in chemistry, biochemistry, mechanical and electrical engineering. The firm handles the trade mark portfolios of Alticor (Mexico and Latin America); Reckitt Benckiser (Mexico); and Wrigley (Mexico and Latin America). Other clients include Bayer and Bentley. The firm's patent practice is also diverse, representing companies from the pharmaceutical, auto, chemical and biotech sectors.

Competitors have only positive remarks about Goodrich, almost all of them attributing the firm's ascent to Enrique Díaz, head of IP, who in 2010 became the firm's youngest senior partner.

"Goodrich is having a second revival," remarks one competitor. "They had disappeared for a while but their head of IP, Enrique Díaz, is doing very good work." Another adds: "Enrique is very active, very informed. He is working hard to establish a better trade mark practice in Mexico." Díaz was also described by one lawyer as "one of the best trade mark lawyers in the country".

In 2012, the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) appointed Díaz as a member of its executive committee for a three-year term ending in 2015.
